Enterprise-Ready: Passing the Global Corporation Test
When a global prestige skincare house needed an Italian 3PL, they didn't just need a warehouse. They needed a partner who could meet corporate standards while keeping the personal touch.
The Challenge
This was different from our typical client onboarding. A global prestige skincare corporation — the kind with a legal team that reviews every logistics contract — was looking for an Italian 3PL partner for their direct-to-consumer channel in Italy.
Their requirements were exacting: temperature-controlled storage at precise ranges (for active skincare ingredients), lot/batch traceability throughout the supply chain, branded packaging with anti-tampering seals, integration with their SAP-driven ERP, and regular KPI reporting to global HQ.
They'd been through two Italian 3PLs already. One couldn't maintain temperature compliance. The other couldn't handle the reporting requirements. Both failed to provide the communication cadence their global supply chain team expected.
The Approach
We prepared for their audit like we were sitting a board exam. Dagmar personally walked their supply chain director through our Cassano Magnago facility, demonstrating temperature logging, CCTV coverage, and batch tracking procedures.
The key differentiator was our technology stack. Ongoing WMS gave them the lot/batch traceability they required, with real-time data pushed to their SAP instance. Minerva provided the dashboard their Italian team needed for daily operations, while we configured automated weekly KPI reports for their global supply chain office.
For packaging, we set up a dedicated station with their branded materials: tissue paper, stickers, ribbon, and the anti-tampering seals they required. Every outbound order was photographed before sealing — a QA step they hadn't asked for but which became a trust builder.
Iris AI was a surprise win during the audit. Their supply chain director had never seen automated Italian address correction at this level. Failed deliveries with prestige products are especially costly (both financially and reputationally), so reducing them was a significant value proposition.
The Result
They passed us on the first audit — something their supply chain director told us hadn't happened with any other Italian provider. We achieved 99.7% order accuracy from month one, exceeding their internal KPI target of 99.5%.
The partnership expanded from D2C only to include wholesale distribution to select Italian retailers. Our ability to handle both B2C (individual consumer orders) and B2B (pallet-level retail distribution) from the same facility was a decisive factor.
We're now their sole Italian fulfilment partner across all channels, and they've referenced us to their sister brands within the same corporate group.
When a global corporation trusts you with their most premium products, you can't afford to get it wrong. But it's not about fear — it's about pride. Every box that leaves our warehouse represents our standard, not just theirs.
